My mom was a Rottweiler and we all lived in a junk yard. The animal control men caught me and my brothers. Then we went to the dog pound in Tuskegee.
I was not used to people but a nice lady at the dog pound worked with me and my brothers to help us learn that people can be nice.
I am black and tan like my mom. My foster mom tells me I am very handsome!
I have been to the vet and got all my shots, dewormed, microchipped, bathed and had frontline put on me. I am in a foster home now and learning to love people as much as I love other dogs!
I now give my foster mom lots of kisses and run to her for affection and to play. I am still nervous about new people. I will be a loyal, devoted and loving companion to someone special.
I would probably not do well in a situation with a large family because lots of noise and activity still makes me nervous. I am protective of my home and I bark when I hear strange noises.
I have been to a two 6 week obedience classes! I have a certificate to show I am a graduate! I know the commands heel, sit, come, stay and down.
I also walk with my foster Mom on or off leash. We go in the car to get to the lake to play so now I like to ride in the car. I am a calm guy and don't need tons of exercise.
I do have trouble holding my urine for long periods of time. I do best with free access to the outdoors. I have a doggie door at my foster mom's house and I do fine with that. I also had hip surgery (FHO) in Aug 2008 and I am running and jumping now.
